They are always exceptions to every rule. As of 2023, there were roughly 25,000 students enrolled in the 8 Ivy League schools. One bad apple. My guess is that 99.9 of the students will never commit a murder. Some close family friends of ours lived 4 houses from Stephen Paddock (Las Vegas shooter). By the logic in the OP, you could say that Reno produces mass murderers all because one did such a thing.
